2014 auction items:

Wayne Lukas: You are invited to enjoy a delightful brunch on Tuesday of Derby week at the private home of Hall of Fame trainer, D. Wayne Lukas. You will be treated to a tour of his home featuring a pristine collection of some of the most prestigious trophies in racing. Led by Wayne himself, you’ll hear extraordinary stories from decades in racing on the world’s most prominent racing stages.  This is your opportunity to entertain clients with an experience they’ll never forget OR soak up racing memories yourself in the most exclusive atmosphere. Valid Tuesday, April 29th for 12 people.

Chris McCarron: Enjoy a morning on the backside of Churchill Downs with Hall of Fame rider and two time Derby winner Chris McCarron (Alysheba and Go For Gin). Not only will you get to see Derby 140 contenders up close as they go through their morning workouts, but you will hear commentary from someone who knows what it takes to win the Derby. This backside tour will be very unique in that not only will you be in the company of a world-renowned jockey, but also you will be accompanied by Chris's students from the North American Racing Academy. Chris was the 1974 Eclipse Award winner for apprentice jockeys, so he knows what it takes to get started in the world of Thoroughbred horse racing. Be on hand as he gives these students valuable information to remember as they embark on their own careers. You will also be there when Chris introduces his group to some of the top jockeys and trainers in the Thoroughbred industry! Hear their words of Derby wisdom just days before the big race. What an amazing opportunity this is and it can be yours! Valid Monday, April 28th only. Limited to 4 people.

Barclay Tagg: Derby winner Funny Cide learned all of his lessons as a young horse and an accomplished runner from trainer Barclay Tagg. Coming from a steeplechase background and working his way through the Thoroughbred ranks, Barclay reached his moment of triumph when New York bred, Funny Cide crossed the finish line first to win the Kentucky Derby 129. Your group will join Barclay at his barn at Keeneland for workouts one morning during the remaining days of the Keeneland spring meet. There you will be able to watch and learn as this gifted horseman trains his stable of horses in hopes of finding another one to take him back to the winner's circle that first Saturday in May. Enjoy donuts and coffee at the barn along with this exclusive inside look at what training is all about. Dates vary, up to 4 people.

Derby and Oaks Seats: Enjoy great seats during both the Kentucky Oaks and the Kentucky Derby with access to complementary, indoor hospitality. Both food and beverage will be within easy reach in this exclusive environment of the Jockey Club Suites. Auction item valid as a package for both days of racing during the Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby, includes 6 tickets.
Derby/Oaks package graciously provided by Brooks Bower.

See some of racing's prominent horsemen and Thoroughbreds during morning workouts followed by a buffet breakfast on The Porch of the Clubhouse while the Thoroughbreds train on the Saratoga track. Package includes seating at the race track for a day of fun. To wrap up your experience with a bang, enjoy a private dinner with trainer Shug McGaughey at one of his favorite Saratoga hot spots, The Wishing Well. Package available for 4 people. Hear firsthand from the 2014 Kentucky Derby winning jockey, Joel Rosario and his agent, Ron Anderson, as you join them for a Derby week tour of the barn area at Churchill Downs when it is at the height of action. Be there as Joel and Ron catch up with some of the key players of Derby 140. Guests will be escorted to the Kentucky Derby Museum to see the celebration of Orb's victory with the jockey who piloted him.
