This is your opportunity to experience areas of the Backside of Churchill Downs Racetrack and see Thoroughbreds in their environment that are closed off to the general public; available only to Museum guests!
On any given day of training, visitors could see a 2-year-old in line to win next year’s Derby, a 9-year-old nearing retirement or the Derby winner themselves. Along with more than 1,400 stalls, catch horses during a bath and learn about life at the track! Van stops will also accommodate for picture-taking trackside (time and weather permitting). Please note that guests must be escorted by a tour guide at all times and will not be allowed inside of barn(s).
Guests taking part in the 7:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. tours also have the best chance to see Thoroughbreds in training on the track! Workouts end daily at 10 am.
