The exhibit runs through August 3rd, 2014 in the Museum’s Pollard Gallery. Click here to read more about the artists.

April 14 - December 31, 2014

This upcoming feature exhibit at the Kentucky Derby Museum explores the sense of play that is a true part of the world’s greatest sporting event. Horseplay will showcase equine toys and games in a hands-on experience for kids and adults alike. Taking the form of an interactive game, visitors will activate the sights and sounds around them progressing from a history of horse toys and games to over-sized versions of the artifacts themselves. Drawing from over 140 years of history, Horseplay will highlight artifacts, photographs and videos displaying the playful, mischievous, and exciting event the Derby is today.

This exhibit will be located on the second floor in the Matt Winn Gallery.

It's my Derby

At the historic Keeneland Sales Pavilion in Lexington, future Kentucky Derby winners have been sold to the highest bidder and gone on to greatness in winning the World's Greatest Race. Names such as I'll Have Another, Animal Kingdom, Big Brown and War Emblem have all pranced out of that sales ring and into the history books.

Now in April 2014, some of the biggest names in racing will join us on that same stage to share with you their fondest memories of their Derby winning experiences. Enjoy an exclusive conversation with Kentucky Derby® winners Stuart Janney, Claude "Shug" McGaughey, Barclay Tagg, Chris McCarron & host D. Wayne Lukas. Part of the evening entertainment features a unique, live auction of one-on-one Derby week experience packages with each racing celebrity. Reserve your ticket now for an evening of laughter, bourbon tastings, big personalities and the best stories in racing. More info>
