Risen Warrior has joined the Kentucky Derby Museum as our newest Resident Thoroughbred.
Standing 15.3 hands tall and weighing well over 1,000 pounds, Risen Warrior is a retired racehorse that made 119 starts in a nine-year career that ended in 2006. In 119 starts, Risen Warrior finished with a record of 19-19-18, with career earnings of $519,075. His best year came in 2002, when in 14 starts he went 5-3-2, including a victory in the $100,000 Claiming Crown Rapid Transit Stakes.
Now 19-years-old, Risen Warrior is a dark bay gelding owned by Alex Rankin at Upson Downs Farm in Goshen, Kentucky. His sire is Lost Code and dam is Risen Witch and he was Kentucky-bred.
