Team MINE THAT BIRD visits Derby Museum to watch their “Greatest Race”

Derby winning Jockey Calvin Borel and Trainer Chip Woolley along with Derby winning owners Dr. Leonard Blach and Mark Allen were in the Museum today. After the unveiling of this year’s “Greatest Race” our 17 minute 360-degree film, the team proceeded to the new Capture the Moment exhibit on the second floor of the Museum. The exhibit honors the winning connections in full-size photographic panels complete with a video presentation. Trainer Chip Woolley presented the museum with items from the Derby race to be displayed during their winning year: including the Derby winner’s blanket, a horseshoe worn during the Derby and Preakness and Mine That Bird’s halter used during all three Triple Crown races.

The winning team was available for photos and autographs in the Museum’s winner’s circle. Fans enjoyed a rare opportunity to see the newly engraved Derby trophies on display at this time. The winner’s circle showcases a replica Mine That Bird horse and jockey dressed in the Double Eagle Ranch silks.
