The Kentucky Derby Museum hosts KIDS’ NIGHT OUT during night racing at Churchill Downs

Churchill Downs will offer the third night of historic night racing on July 2nd, 2009. While parents party at the track, the Kentucky Derby Museum will offer a Kids’ Night Out to entertain the younger race fans at the beginning of this holiday weekend.

The Derby Museum offers youth the chance to party with the ponies in our stable area with free pony rides, outdoor games, and tours out to watch the races (separate from the crowds). Other night activities include horse-themed movies for kids, wii stations, dance contests, arts and crafts, pizza and snacks. Children should bring sleeping bags and a pillow if they wish. Prices are $25 per child and discounted to $20 per additional sibling. Children ages 5-12 are welcome. Hours of the event are July 2nd from 5 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. Dinner will be provided until 7:00 p.m. Groups are welcome. The museum will be closed to the public at this time to provide a secure environment for the kids. Proof of parent identification will be required at the time of pick up.

Reservations are necessary and available online at: www.derbymuseum.org. For additional information, please call 502-637-1111 ext. 227.
