LOUISVILLE, Ky. (April 4, 2018) – The Kentucky Derby Museum’s signature fundraising event, the Kentucky Derby Museum Gala, is nearly a sold-out event. This year’s Gala will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018.
Once again, Churchill Downs Racetrack is a supporting partner of the event. Gala attendees will start the evening with a cocktail hour at the racetrack’s most-exclusive venue, The Mansion. The black-tie event will continue at the Kentucky Derby Museum with dinner and dancing.
“The support we receive from the community through the Gala is invaluable to the Kentucky Derby Museum, its mission and programs. Our amazing Gala Committee always creates a stellar event that is not to be missed,” Kentucky Derby Museum President Patrick Armstrong said. “We are also excited to once again partner with Churchill Downs Racetrack. Kicking off the evening in The Mansion has been the perfect start to our Gala for the past two years. We are excited to once again start the evening in such a magnificent venue.”
Cindy Carcione is the 2018 Kentucky Derby Museum Gala Chairwoman. She also served as Co- Chair in 2017. She and her committee are creating a bright, colorful and modern “horse of a different color” theme for this year’s Gala.
“It has been such a joy to work on the Museum’s 32nd Gala with such an amazing group of women,” Carcione said. “The horse of a different color theme, I hope, symbolizes the uniqueness of each gala chair past and present.”

The Kentucky Derby Museum Gala is the single largest fundraiser for the Museum each year. Fundraising efforts for the Museum’s Gala will help support the Museum’s curatorial, educational programs and other program services of the Museum. Education programs are designed for students in Pre-K through 12th grade, using resources and programs related to the equine industry and the Kentucky Derby. In addition to the in-house education programs, the Museum’s traveling Education Outreach bring learning opportunities into schools across the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
