Derby Winners share an evening with fans for Derby Museum fundraiser

Louisville, KY: On Wednesday, November, 2, 2011 during Breeders’ Cup week at Churchill Downs, the Kentucky Derby Museum will host an event featuring seven Kentucky Derby winners. The winners will share their stories of a lifetime in racing including their friendships with one another and highlights of their careers during the “It’s my Derby™” event.

Last year, nearly 200 guests enjoyed an evening of laughter and stories from some of racing’s most famed personalities. This year, Bob Baffert, Mike Pegram, Graham Motion, Jerry Bailey, John Velazquez & Angel Cordero, Jr. along with the host and 4-time Derby winner D. Wayne Lukas, will share their most emotional moments of Derby excitement.

Following the conversation with winners, members of the audience will have the opportunity to bid on exclusive experiences with each racing personality. Experiences include: Derby week brunch at the home of D. Wayne Lukas, dinner with Bob Baffert, Morning Workouts with this year’s Derby winning jockey John Velazquez, a round of golf with Jerry Bailey, Oaks Day with Angel Cordero, Jr., an Opening Night bar-b-cue with Graham Motion and a deluxe package to Del Mar California for opening weekend!

As the grand finale, a Derby Dream package will be offered to the highest bidder. It includes: a Derby box for six guests, a 4-night stay at the Downtown Louisville Marriott, admission to a private party in the Kentucky Derby Museum with lavish lunch buffet and drink tickets, private backside tour on Derby day for two guests and a woman’s hat of choice from the Derby Museum’s spring gift shop line. Return on Sunday to see the 2012 Derby winner and have breakfast at Wagner’s.

Prints of each of the winners and their Derby horses will be available as silent auction items with the opportunity to have them personalized at the end of the evening.

Don’t miss your chance to meet these racing greats in person and to hear the competition, camaraderie and treasured memories from these legends on stage. Tickets are $50.00 for general admission with appetizers and a cash bar or $125.00 per person for a V.I.P. cocktail reception with the winners and reserved seating at the event.
