The Legends Series is an ongoing celebration of the culture, people and history of bourbon. Don’t miss your chance to see this Legend in person and experience special tastings, appetizers and a Q&A discussion between Tom Bulleit and Minnick.
The 2017 Legends Series consists of three events (tickets for $75/person or $65/Museum Member). Click here to learn more about the series. Tom Bulleit, Founder of Bulleit Distilling Co., is the second event on March 23.
In 1987, Tom Bulleit – Louisville native, Vietnam veteran and lawyer by trade – boldly fulfilled a lifelong dream by reviving an old family Bourbon tradition. At a time when whiskey was in decline, Tom poured his passion into re-creating his great-great-grandfather Augustus Bulleit’s high-rye Bourbon from the 1800s – a bold, spicy style that proudly stands out from the competition. Nearly 30 years later, Tom is responsible for America’s fastest-growing super premium Bourbon and top-selling Rye. His whiskeys have won top honors at multiple world spirits competitions and are passionately endorsed by bartenders the world over. In 2014, Bulleit opened a visitor center on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail® at the Stitzel-Weller Distillery in Louisville and broke ground on a new $115 million distillery in Shelby County.
Tom has been inducted into the Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame, appointed to the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels and recently honored as a Louisville Hometown Hero. He earned his BA from the University of Kentucky and served in Vietnam as a Marine Corpsman. Upon returning home, Tom earned law degrees from the University of Louisville and Georgetown University, all while working in Kentucky distilleries between terms. Tom is married to Elizabeth Calloway Brooks, whose ancestors include Daniel Boone, and he has two children.
