The Great Hall & Exhibits

The Great Hall, a one-of-a-kind area allows for an open environment seating up to 270 guests banquet style or up to 400 guests reception style.

Share your story on 360° movie screens or immerse your guests into the first Saturday in May with The Greatest Race, our award winning signature exhibit movie.

Larger groups can be served through multi-level use of the Museum (indoor and outdoor) with up to 2,000 people accommodated for cocktail receptions.




2nd Floor Pollard Gallery

The Carl F. Pollard Gallery is a spacious area on the second floor with a series of windows across the front of the room and a balcony view overlooking the Barbaro Statue that can accommodate 130 guests seated at round tables of 10, 150 guests seated in theater style, or 65 guests seated in classroom style.

The space is equipped with all necessary audio and visual for meeting presentations.




Oaks Garden Terrace

The renovated and customizable Oaks Garden Terrace is an all-weather covered outdoor space that boasts 7,300 square feet and can seat up to 400, more for cocktail style receptions. This space can be utilized year-round with an indoor/outdoor atmosphere and overlooks the stable and horses and is perfect for any occasion.




Derby Café

Perfect for intimate dining, the space overlooks the newly renovated Oaks Garden Terrace and stable area with dinner seating up to 85 people. This space is perfect for a breakfast gathering, bridal shower or intimate dinner meeting.




2nd floor New Expansion Event Galleries (including Lukas & Shoemaker)

The Museum’s new wing features a 3,600 square foot event space that overlooks the paddock and Starting Gate Suites areas of historic Churchill Downs through a series of large windows on 3 sides of the space. Seating accommodates up to 200 guests, more for cocktail style receptions and is perfect for ANY occasion!

The space is equipped with all necessary audio and visual for meeting presentations.
