This guided van tour will take you through the vibrant community of horses, trainers, exercise riders, and more as they prepare for the big day. As you ride between the signature green-roofed barns, be on the lookout for the iconic yellow saddle cloths that adorn current Derby contenders’ stalls and maybe even catch a glimpse of the next Triple Crown Winner.
At 7:00 AM, Derby and Oaks contenders are typically on the track for morning workouts. By 8:45 AM, some contenders may still be working out alongside other world‑class Thoroughbreds as you stand railside along the backstretch.
The Barn and Backside Tour is great for horse lovers, but please note guests will not be able to touch the horses.
