Down the Stretch!

Hear the thunder of hooves as horses race past you down Churchill Downs’ iconic homestretch. As you watch Thoroughbreds work out from the railside, your guide will share the ins and outs of what’s happening on the track as well as fun Derby insights and history of the track. See what happens after the race as you travel through the Infield tunnels to the Backside where you’ll see horses getting cooled off, cleaned up, and ready for their next race.

Guests on the 7 a.m. tour will have the opportunity to see this year’s Derby contenders warm up the track. As you make your way to the Backside, be on the lookout for the yellow saddles that denote which stalls belong to Derby or Oaks horses.
