Experience the Bluegrass State like never before with this exclusive tour from the Kentucky Derby Museum! The Horse Farms Tour starts at the iconic Churchill Downs Racetrack and Kentucky Derby Museum in Louisville. From there, guests are off to Lexington for lunch and a tour of two Kentucky horse farms, complete with petting and feeding time! To kick off the tour, you’ll watch morning workouts railside at Churchill Downs Racetrack. From there, you’ll have time to explore the Kentucky Derby Museum’s two floors of exhibits, including a showing of The Greatest Race. Next, you’ll ride to Lexington to explore two horse farms, with a break for lunch at Wallace Station in between. Stops include two breeding farms, Hill ‘n’ Dale Farm, which serves as the final resting place of 1977 Triple Crown winner Seattle Slew, and KatieRich Farms, where you’ll have the exclusive opportunity to get up close and personal with a few mares and foals, including petting and feeding time!

Tour Details

  • Requires a minimum of four guests and is limited to twelve guests
  • 7-1/2 hours including lunch (8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.)
  • Thursdays in August 
  • $150 per person
  • Walking and stairs involved
  • Rain or shine—please dress appropriately for the weather!
  • For guests 8 years of age and older
  • Must be purchased at least two days in advance
